Programs can be tailored for the induction training of staff in all environments. Courses include the following.
Assistant Fire marshal course.
This course is targeted at the lay person to be nominated as an assistant fire marshal in the workplace in accordance with current legislation. Outline programme The qualification covers the following topics: - Responsibilities in the workplace
- The nature of fire
- Introduction to fire extinguishers
- Fire signage
- Fire Hazards
- Actions on discovering a fire
This would be a 4hour course and on successful completion of test the student would be competent to act as an assistant fire marshal.
Fire marshal course.
Course targeted at the employee to be given the role of fire marshal in accordance with current legislation. Course targeted at the employee to be given the role of fire marshal in accordance with current legislation. As with the assistant fire marshal course the following topics are covered: - Responsibilities in the workplace
- The nature of fire
- Correct use and recognition of fire extinguishers
- Fire signage
- Fire Hazards
- Actions on discovering a fire
Included topics are: - Current legislation and regulations
- Understanding the principles and procedures of fire evacuation
- Recognition of hazards and how they may effect fire behaviour
- Fire risk assessment in designated areas
This would be a 1 or 2 day course and will enable upon successful completion the student to act in the role of fire marshal. Note: There is no requirement for hot training, however this can be arranged and is recommended to enhance training outcomes.
